Over the summer of 2022, I visited Miami, Florida with a group of my close friends; all of us being under 21. Throughout the duration of the trip, I noticed many of the activities and fun events available were restricted to those over the age of 21. Online, it was hard to find activities that were both enjoyable and open to those under 21 (or even 18+.) I had been wanting to experiment and learn Swift and SwiftUI for quite a while and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to fill a need while learning a new skill. I spent around 2-3 weeks structuring and building this application on macOS on the Xcode software. The application would use the Yelp API to query through trending activities and events that did not have a 21+ age requirement so that those who are younger or aren’t interested in indulging in drinking-based activities could find fun in the city of Miami. Data retrieved from the Yelp API is stored in a JSON file that is then parsed using Swift and displayed using the SwiftUI.
